Key Responsibilities:
- Lead commercial assessments for BD opportunities, including detailed financial modeling (forecasts and P&Ls) that inform deal valuation models.
- Partner cross-functionally with Research, Development, Search & Evaluation, and Financial Analytics to support clinical/scientific assessment, competitive landscape analysis, and financial modeling.
- Serve as the commercial voice in BD project reviews, presenting to senior executives and championing external opportunities with a clear commercial POV.
- Engage directly with C-suite leaders at potential partners, VC firms, and investment banks; represent AbbVie at key industry conferences.
- Collaborate with global colleagues to develop perspectives on BD opportunities across major and emerging markets.

Disease Area Strategy:
- Lead prioritized disease area strategies using disease landscapes, treatment paradigms, competitive dynamics, and market outlook.
- Translate disease area strategies into actionable opportunities and aligned BD priorities.
- Assimilate new disease states with a patient-centered focus and integrate HCP and payer insights to identify unmet needs and future value drivers.
- Build internal/external innovation plans with cross-functional partners, incorporating regulatory and portfolio dynamics.
- Act as conduit between Development and Commercial teams.
- Lead global commercial alignment to capture regional/affiliate needs in asset strategy.
- Lead internal planning processes (LRP, Annual Plan, etc.).

Qualifications
Experience required:
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Pharma/biotech/consultant firm experience.
- 10+ years in pharma commercial/marketing and/or management consulting/investment banking supporting the pharma market.
- 5+ years financial modeling experience (forecasts and P&Ls).
- Prior Director-level experience in Commercial Development, Pipeline Management, or Commercial/Marketing.

Preferred:
- Advanced degree (MBA, Ph.D.).
- Strong analytical/strategic marketing and ability to learn new disease states quickly.
- Strong financial acumen (P&L drivers, SG&A investment, top-line forecasts).
- Executive-ready presentation skills; highly organized and detail-oriented.
- Experience with matrix teams and external experts.
- Proficiency in MS PowerPoint and MS Excel.
- Self-starter who drives projects to completion.
