A Typical Day in the Role Might Look Like
- Drive operational strategy for model development, ensuring efficiency, compliance, and scientific rigor.
- Manage cross-functional collaborations to optimize timelines and resource allocation for GEM model delivery.
- Implement standardized processes and quality controls to enhance reproducibility and reliability across all operations.
- Champion continuous improvement and innovation, fostering a culture of accountability and adaptability.
- Develop and mentor team members, building leadership capability and sustaining high performance.
- Ensure effective communication and alignment across departments to support strategic objectives and organizational goals.
- Supervise managers; optimize plans, policies, and objectives; monitor performance against goals.
- Interact internally and externally with executive-level management.
- Develop and maintain relationships with cross-departmental and functional stakeholders to align operations with departmental and R&D initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Drive strategic growth of genetically engineered mouse (GEMM) models and pursue R&D portfolio support across departments.
- Advance R&D objectives through strategic goal setting, portfolio management, and timely cross-functional coordination for mouse model delivery.
- Standardize processes and procedures; proactively identify and resolve issues; foster operational excellence.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree; 15+ years of professional experience.
- Graduate degree (MS or PhD) or equivalent beneficial/preferred.
- Experience leading a diverse multi-level team of at least 25 individuals.
- Background in vivarium operations, molecular biology, GEM model generation, and application of data systems to a GEM model pipeline.
- Demonstrated publication or patent records (plus).
- Understanding of pharmaceutical R&D portfolio strategy.
