Summary of the Job
- Sr. Territory Managers interact face to face with customers, understand needs, and consult to offer solutions. Work with field sales teams to support a customer-centric business model.
- Responsible for identifying veterinary clinic, shelter facility, and corporate account needs in the assigned territory by selling the Animal Health division Companion Animal product portfolio, supporting pull-through activities, and demonstrating technical value aligned to βThe Science of Healthier Animals.β
Essential Accountabilities
- Communicate and customize product portfolio discussions based on individual customer needs.
- Serve as primary point of contact; meet decision makers to understand practice structure, business model, key influencers, customer needs, and opportunities.
- Develop customer, territory, and account plans; partner with National Account Managers, Corporate Account Team, and Distribution Field Partners to drive occupancy and sales growth.
- Collaborate across species teams; share learnings within the region.
- Analyze monthly sales results and manage expenses within budget.
- Identify and select available programs/services for customer education and training.
- Work with leadership/Field Professional Services to develop and deliver offerings.
- Maintain understanding of Animal Health products, industry trends, and competitor landscape; communicate trends internally.
- Develop and meet learning and development objectives with leadership.
Background & Education
- Minimum: High school diploma + 10+ years sales experience (or) Bachelorβs degree + 5+ years sales experience.
Required Skills/Abilities
- Excellent interpersonal/communication/presentation skills; results-driven.
- Strong collaboration; adapts processes to meet customer needs.
- Ability to manage multiple accounts; apply selling techniques and articulate value using approved resources.
- Identify/develop/manage diverse territory accounts; develop plans from unique opportunities.
- Proficient with Word, Excel, PowerPoint; use iPad.
- Independent and team collaboration; travel overnight and some weekends.
Preferred Skills/Abilities
- Animal Health industry sales experience; knowledge of animal health biological/pharmaceuticals; distribution experience.
- Multilingual (Spanish preferred).
Territory/Work Arrangements
- Central Los Angeles territory; preferred residence within territory (allowance up to 20 miles from border).
