Job Summary
The Training Manager designs, develops, and delivers high-impact training programs to build product knowledge, selling capability, and business acumen across the sales organization. Translates business priorities into application-based training that drives field performance. Partners cross-functionally to ensure training is relevant, actionable, and aligned to real customer interactions.
Responsibilities
- Translate business priorities and field needs into clear, actionable training programs
- Design training emphasizing real-world application and behavior change
- Ensure training materials are high-quality, complete, and aligned to field execution
- Continuously improve training based on feedback, performance trends, and observed field needs
- Deliver engaging training sessions across live and virtual environments
- Lead portions of onboarding, workshops, and national sales meeting training
- Facilitate skill development through interactive, application-based learning
- Partner with Sales, Marketing, Market Access, and other stakeholders to align on training priorities and messaging
- Manage training projects (timelines and deliverables)
- Oversee training content within the Learning Management System (LMS)
- Monitor training completion, effectiveness, and engagement through reporting and feedback
- Engage with the field to understand needs, challenges, and opportunities
Qualifications
- Bachelorβs degree from an accredited college or university
- 5+ years pharmaceutical/biotech industry experience (preferably in sales with demonstrated success/progression); internal candidates: 1 year with Phathom and current performance in the top 50% of the sales organization
- Demonstrated consistent sales performance and strong business acumen
- Excellent communication, presentation, and facilitation skills
- Strong collaboration and cross-functional partnership skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality work independently
- Hybrid: based in Florham Park, NJ; minimum 3 days/week in office
- Travel approximately 15β25%
Preferred Qualifications
- Interest in coaching, mentoring, or developing others
- Experience leading team discussions/meetings/training sessions
- Familiarity with learning platforms or training tools
- Interest in learning and applying adult learning principles
