Role Summary
Six-month student Co-op in Decision & Quality Analytics Innovation (DQAI) at Biogen, January–June 2026. Resume review begins October 2025. The DQAI team drives data-driven insights from trusted data to maximize quality, efficiency, and application of analytics across the RDM portfolio and Quality Management Systems, focusing on data management, advanced analytics, business intelligence, and metrics management.
Responsibilities
- Leverage modern AI assistants (Azure OpenAI / Copilot, GenAI-powered BI, etc.) to accelerate data exploration, automate repetitive tasks, and enhance insight storytelling.
- Analyze complex data from various sources to identify trends, gaps, risks, and opportunities.
- Work with senior staff to translate business questions into analytical problems and convert analytical outputs into actionable recommendations.
- Apply statistical and machine learning techniques to uncover root causes, patterns, and predictive indicators.
- Deliver concise insight summaries, written reports, and presentations that highlight implications and recommendations.
- Work with data engineering and governance teams to ensure data readiness and integrity for analytics.
- Support initiatives to accelerate insight discovery from portfolio and program analytics modeling.
- Develop and prototype data visualizations and dashboards.
- Participate in skill-building and capability-enhancement initiatives within the DQAI team.

- Support development of custom-tailored strategic analytics solutions to answer complex questions from senior leadership.
- Pioneer new approaches for displaying data to engage stakeholders.
- Perform quality control functions to ensure the integrity of the team’s work.
Qualifications
- Required: Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with a proven track record of turning data into strategic insights.
- Required: Proficiency in data analysis tools and languages (e.g., Python, R).
- Required: Experience applying advanced analytics, such as statistical modeling, simulations, or NLP, to real-world business challenges.
- Required: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to synthesize complex findings for non-technical stakeholders.
- Required: Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional environment and lead analytics initiatives from concept to insight delivery.
- Preferred: Nice-to-haves: Some background in biological sciences, clinical/pharmaceutical development, Monte Carlo simulation, or finance/accounting.
- Required: Legal authorization to work in the U.S.
- Required: At least 18 years of age prior to the scheduled start date.
- Required: Currently enrolled in an accredited community college, college, university or skills program/apprenticeship.
