POSITION (Clinical Account Specialist, CAS โ Rochester, NY)
The Clinical Account Specialist (CAS) is a field-based role responsible for supporting the launch and ongoing growth of Ionisโs first wholly owned commercial product in their territory as the indication expands beyond Familial Chylomicronemia Syndrome (FCS) to severe hypertriglyceridemia (SHTG). The CAS will understand the healthcare landscape and engage key customers and accounts to identify opportunities to improve patient care and build partnerships across the healthcare ecosystem.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Build, maintain, and leverage networks and relationships in the local healthcare system to develop and execute effective business plans.
- Educate HCPs and office staff on SHTG disease state awareness, diagnostic pathway, and appropriate patient prioritization.
- Create positive prescribing experience using value-added resourcing and HCP/patient support materials and programs.
- Participate in conferences and scientific meetings to educate HCPs on SHTG disease state and treatment.
- Gather account insights and provide feedback to field leadership and marketing to inform sales/marketing strategy.
- Understand local referral networks and identify/validate potential HCPs treating SHTG.
- Execute brand strategic plans via customer-focused territory strategic account plans.
- Adjust territory strategies to meet regional business goals.
- Participate in field meetings/training; certify on approved label and applicable compliance/customer engagement policies.
- Partner cross-functionally to ensure a high standard, compliant customer and patient experience.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Valid U.S. driverโs license and compliant driving record.
- Bachelorโs degree.
- 5+ years of pharma sales experience, including:
- New product launches
- Account-based selling
- HCP and IDN engagement
- Cross-functional field team coordination
- Independently managing a sales territory
- Background in cardiology, endocrinology, and other relevant sub-specialties treating FCS patients.
- Injectable experience preferred.
- Familiarity with cardiometabolic/lipid-related diseases (e.g., sHTG).
- Established relationships with KOLs and major accounts.
- Ability to analyze market data and develop territory strategies.
- Record of navigating complex accounts and aligning solutions with patient needs.
- Strong clinical knowledge and commitment to patient needs.
