Position: Clinical Account Specialist (CAS) — field-based
Responsibilities:
- Support launch and ongoing growth of Ionis’s first wholly owned commercial product in territory as indication expands to severe hypertriglyceridemia (SHTG).
- Build, maintain, and leverage local healthcare networks to develop and execute effective business plans to meet customer and Ionis goals.
- Educate HCPs and office staff on sHTG disease awareness, diagnostic pathway, and appropriate patient prioritization.
- Create positive prescribing experience via HCP/patient support resources and programs.
- Participate in conferences and scientific meetings to educate HCPs on sHTG disease state and treatment.
- Gather insights to profile accounts; provide feedback to field leadership and marketing to inform sales/marketing strategy.
- Understand local referral networks and referral patterns for sHTG patients.
- Identify, validate, and document potential HCPs treating sHTG patients.
- Execute brand strategic plans through customer-focused territory account plans.
- Build insight-driven tactics anticipating needs of key customers (e.g., endocrinologists, cardiologists, and targeted PCPs).
- Adjust strategies based on assigned region territory insight and business goals.
- Develop strategic account plans with field and brand leadership.
- Participate in field meetings/training; certify on approved label, compliance training, and applicable engagement policies.
- Partner with cross-functional teammates to ensure compliant high-standard customer/patient experience; share learnings and leverage technology to engage customers.
Qualifications:
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and driving record compliant with company standards.
- Bachelor’s degree.
- 5+ years pharma sales experience, including: new product launches; account-based selling; HCP/IDN engagement; cross-functional field coordination; independent territory management.
- Background in cardiology, endocrinology, and/or other sub-specialties treating FCS.
- Injectable experience preferred.
- Familiarity treating cardiometabolic/lipid diseases such as severe hypertriglyceridemia (sHTG).
- Established relationships with KOLs and major accounts.
- Ability to analyze market data and develop territory strategies.
- Demonstrated ability to navigate complex accounts and align solutions to patient needs; strong clinical knowledge.
