POSITION
The Clinical Account Specialist (CAS) is a field-based role responsible for supporting the launch and ongoing growth of Ionis’s first wholly owned commercial product within their territory as the indication expands beyond Familial Chylomicronemia Syndrome (FCS) to severe hypertriglyceridemia (SHTG). The role focuses on engaging key customers and accounts, identifying opportunities to improve patient care, and building partnerships across the healthcare ecosystem.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Build, maintain, and leverage local healthcare networks and relationships to develop and execute business plans meeting customer and Ionis goals.
- Educate HCPs and office staff to raise SHTG disease state awareness, explain diagnostic pathway, and encourage prioritization and treatment of appropriate SHTG patients.
- Create positive prescribing experience using value-added resourcing and HCP/patient support materials and programs.
- Participate in conferences and scientific meetings to educate HCPs on sHTG disease state and treatment.
- Gather insights to profile accounts and provide feedback to field leadership/marketing to inform sales and marketing strategy.
- Understand local referral networks and identify/validate potential HCPs treating sHTG patients.
- Develop and execute customer-focused territory strategic account plans aligned to brand requirements and customer needs.
- Participate in field meetings and training; certify on approved label and compliance training and applicable customer engagement policies.
- Partner cross-functionally to ensure compliant, high-standard customer/patient experiences; share learnings and leverage multi-channel engagement platforms.

QUALIFICATIONS
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and compliant driving record.
- Bachelor’s degree.
- 5+ years of Pharma sales experience in: new product launches, account-based selling, HCP/IDN engagement, cross-functional field team coordination, and independently managing a sales territory.
- Background in cardiology/endocrinology or related sub-specialties treating FCS patients.
- Injectable experience preferred.
- Familiarity with cardiometabolic/lipid-related diseases, including sHTG.
- Established relationships with KOLs and major accounts.
- Ability to analyze market data and develop territory strategies; navigate complex accounts and align solutions to patient needs.
- Strong clinical knowledge and commitment to patient needs.
