Clinical Account Specialist (CAS), Central Coast, CA
Responsibilities
- Field-based role supporting launch and ongoing growth of Ionis’s wholly owned commercial product in territory as indication expands beyond FCS to SHTG; engage key customers/accounts and build partnerships across the healthcare ecosystem.
- Build, maintain, and leverage local healthcare networks/relationships to develop and execute effective business plans aligned to customer and Ionis goals.
- Educate HCPs/office staff on sHTG disease state, diagnostic pathway, and need to prioritize/treat appropriate patients.
- Create positive prescribing experience via value-added resourcing and HCP/patient support materials/programs.
- Participate in conferences and scientific meetings to educate HCPs on sHTG disease state and treatment.
- Gather account insights and provide feedback to field leadership and marketing to inform sales/marketing strategy.
- Understand local referral networks and identify/validate/document potential HCPs treating sHTG.
- Execute brand strategic plans through customer-focused territory strategic account plans; develop insight-driven tactics for endocrinologists, cardiologists, other sub-specialties, and targeted PCPs.
- Adjust strategies to meet business goals in the region; develop strategic account plans with field/brand leadership.
- Participate in field meetings/training; certify on approved label and compliance training; adhere to policies including Code of Ethics.
- Collaborate cross-functionally; use platforms/technology to compliantly engage via multiple channels; partner on accounts spanning multiple specialties/geographies.
Qualifications
- Valid U.S. driver’s license; driving record compliant with company standards.
- Bachelor’s degree.
- 5+ years pharma sales: new product launches, account-based selling, HCP/IDN engagement, cross-functional field team coordination.
- Prior independent territory management.
- Background in cardiology/endocrinology or related sub-specialties treating FCS.
- Injectable experience preferred.
- Familiarity treating cardiometabolic/lipid-related diseases (sHTG).
- Established KOL and major account relationships.
- Ability to analyze market data and develop territory strategies.
- Proven ability navigating complex accounts and aligning solutions with patient needs; strong clinical knowledge.
