Position: Clinical Account Specialist (CAS), Central Coast, CA
Responsibilities:
- Support the launch and ongoing growth of Ionis’s first wholly owned commercial product in the assigned territory as indications expand from FCS to severe hypertriglyceridemia (SHTG).
- Build, maintain, and leverage local healthcare networks and relationships to develop and execute effective business plans.
- Educate HCPs and office staff on sHTG disease state awareness, diagnostic pathway, and appropriate patient treatment.
- Create positive prescribing experience using HCP/patient support materials and programs.
- Participate in scientific meetings to educate HCPs on sHTG disease state and treatment.
- Gather account insights; understand referral networks and patterns; identify/validate/document potential treating HCPs.
- Develop and execute customer-focused territory strategic account plans; adjust strategies to meet regional goals.
- Participate in field meetings/training; certify on approved label and compliance training; adhere to Code of Ethics and Business Conduct.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams; use platforms/technology to engage customers through multiple channels.
Qualifications:
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and compliant driving record.
- Bachelor’s Degree.
- 5+ years in Pharma sales: new product launches, account-based selling, HCP/IDN engagement, cross-functional field team coordination.
- Prior experience independently managing a sales territory.
- Background in cardiology/endocrinology or related sub-specialties treating FCS patients.
- Injectable experience preferred.
- Familiarity with cardiometabolic/lipid diseases including sHTG.
- Established KOL and major account relationships.
- Ability to analyze market data and develop territory strategies.
- Record of navigating complex accounts and aligning solutions with patient needs.
- Strong clinical knowledge and commitment to patient needs.
Benefits/Pay:
- Pay scale: $140,000 to $160,000.
