Position: The Clinical Account Specialist (CAS) is a field-based role supporting the launch and ongoing growth of Ionis’s first wholly owned commercial product in a territory as the indication expands beyond Familial Chylomicronemia Syndrome (FCS) to severe hypertriglyceridemia (SHTG). Responsibilities:
- Build, maintain, and leverage local healthcare networks to develop and execute effective business plans.
- Educate HCPs and office staff on SHTG disease state, diagnostic pathway, and appropriate patient treatment.
- Create a positive prescribing experience using HCP/patient support materials and programs.
- Participate in scientific meetings to educate HCPs on SHTG disease state and treatment.
- Gather account insights and provide feedback to leadership/marketing to inform sales and marketing strategy.
- Understand local referral networks and document potential sHTG-treating HCPs.
- Execute brand strategic plans via customer-focused territory account plans.
- Develop and adjust territory strategies based on current/future customer needs.
- Participate in field training; certify on approved label and compliance training.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure compliant best-in-class customer/patient experience and share learnings.

Qualifications:
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and compliant driving record.
- Bachelor’s degree.
- 5+ years Pharma sales experience: new product launches, account-based selling, HCP/IDN engagement, cross-functional coordination, independent territory management.
- Background in cardiology/endocrinology (FCS) and familiarity with cardiometabolic/lipid diseases such as sHTG.
- Injectable experience preferred; established KOL/major account relationships.
- Ability to analyze market data and develop territory strategies; strong clinical knowledge.

Benefits/Pay: Pay scale $140,000–$160,000.
