Clinical Account Executive (CAE) β field-based; candidates should live within reasonable distance of San Francisco N / Richmond / San Rafael / Rohnert Park / Berkeley / Hayward / Livermore / Fremont / Daly City / Union City / Pacifica / Redwood City / Palo Alto / Santa Clara / Sunnyvale / Los Gatos / Campbell / Morgan Hill / Santa Cruz / Gilroy / Watsonville, CA (and surrounding areas).
Key Accountabilities / Core Job Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute a comprehensive territory business plan aligned with brand strategy and local customer needs.
- Build trusted relationships with hematologists, oncologists, nurses, pharmacists, administrators, and key account stakeholders.
- Demonstrate deep scientific and clinical expertise in compliant, customer-focused engagements.
- Partner with cross-functional colleagues to deliver coordinated customer experiences.
- Use data, customer insights, and business analytics to optimize territory performance.
- Maintain integrity, compliance, and professionalism in every customer interaction.
- Complete required AbbVie training and adhere to company policies and OEC/Legal procedures.
- Continuously develop clinical, business, and leadership capabilities.
- Meet healthcare industry representative credentialing requirements (e.g., background checks, drug screens, immunization/vaccination proof).
Qualifications (Required):
- 5+ years sales experience in pharma/biotech, medical device, or diagnostics.
- Competitive selling skills; collaborative team environment.
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills; persistency and grit.
- Ability to drive (personal auto/company vehicle); valid driverβs license; pass pre-employment drug screening and safe driving requirements.
- Business travel regularly required.
Preferred:
- Oncology experience (preferably hematologic malignancies).
- Bachelorβs degree.
- Account Management experience; Specialty Pharmacy experience; healthcare industry experience.
- People management/leadership; MBA or other advanced degree.
