Job Description β Clinical Account Executive, Oncology β Birmingham, AL
Field-based; candidates should live within the territory (Birmingham, Huntsville, Montgomery, Dothan, AL and surrounding areas).
Key Accountabilities / Core Job Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute a comprehensive territory business plan aligned with brand strategy and local customer needs.
- Build trusted relationships with hematologists, oncologists, nurses, pharmacists, administrators, and key account stakeholders.
- Deliver compliant, customer-focused engagements using deep scientific and clinical expertise.
- Partner effectively with cross-functional colleagues to deliver coordinated customer experiences.
- Continuously evaluate territory performance using data, customer insights, and business analytics to optimize execution.
- Maintain the highest standards of integrity, compliance, and professionalism.
- Complete required AbbVie training and adhere to company policies and OEC/Legal procedures.
- Continuously develop clinical, business, and leadership capabilities.
- Meet health care industry representative credentialing requirements for entry to assigned facilities (may include background checks, drug screens, and proof of immunization/vaccination).
Qualifications / Requirements:
- 5+ years sales experience in pharma/biotech, medical device, or diagnostics.
- Competitive selling skills; strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a collaborative team environment.
- Persistency/grit and ability to succeed in a challenging environment.
- Ability to drive personal auto or company vehicle; valid driverβs license; pass pre-employment drug screening and meet safe driving requirements.
- Regular business travel (air or car).
Preferred:
- Oncology experience (preferably hematologic malignancies).
- Bachelorβs degree; account management experience.
- Specialty pharmacy experience; healthcare industry experience.
- People management/leadership experience; MBA or other advanced degree.
