Case Manager, West Coast

Role: Patient Access and Reimbursement Specialist supporting Alnylam's RNAi therapeutics for rare and genetic diseases. Responsibilities: assess patient needs, develop treatment initiation and continuation plans, navigate insurance reimbursement, obtain approvals, and educate stakeholders including patients, caregivers, providers, and payers. Maintains expertise in reimbursement processes, payer trends, and disease state information; builds collaborative relationships across internal teams and external partners; supports patient advocacy and industry engagement. Requirements: Bachelor’s degree; 3+ years of case management or healthcare-related experience, preferably in rare diseases or biotech; knowledge of benefit verification, prior authorization, and reimbursement systems for infused/injectable therapies; proficiency with CRM tools such as Salesforce; strong communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills; ability to work independently, influence cross-functionally, and manage competing priorities. Preferred: experience in ultra-rare disease settings, social work/nursing background, and familiarity with Medicare/Medicaid and billing/coding. High-Value: focus on reimbursement, insurance navigation, and patient support for biologics or RNAi therapies in a fast-paced, innovative biotech environment. Work setup: primarily remote with 5% travel, including occasional evenings/weekends.
