Role Summary

Cardiometabolic Care Specialist I positions are responsible for achieving sales goals by implementing marketing and sales strategies to effectively promote Novo Nordisk's portfolio to healthcare professionals and office staff in designated territories. This role involves building relationships with physicians, PAs, NPs, medical staff, pharmacists, and other partners, collaborating with internal teams, and applying disease-state knowledge to support patient care.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrates competencies with territory-level impact
  • Understands local payer market designs and their impact on customer decisions
  • Identifies business opportunities by understanding territory customer groups and affiliations
  • Analyzes bidding policies/contracts to influence formulary status, as applicable
  • Assesses the impact of managed care on prescribing decisions and adjusts strategies
  • Develops relationships with specialists and key hospital decision-makers involved in formulary decisions
  • Researches and tailors account plans based on stakeholders and practices
  • Uses market understanding to develop and execute territory business plans
  • Gains access to and maintains relationships with prescribers, staff, pharmacies, and clinic administrators to drive business impact
  • Maintains a professional, customer-focused approach with internal and external stakeholders
  • Collaborates across functions to share knowledge and opportunities
  • Implements Novo Nordisk Edge Selling Model in external engagements and company-sponsored meetings

  • Uses analytical tools to evaluate opportunities and create territory plans to engage customers and gain commitment to use products aligned with payer opportunities and brand strategies
  • Coordinates with internal stakeholders to implement plans and define roles
  • Manages samples, company property, and budgets to support territory goals
  • Understands disease states and the treatment continuum, including NNI and competitor products
  • Engages customers with knowledge of promoted clinical studies
  • Contributes to product and disease-state knowledge in meetings, trainings, and events

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent; PharmD preferred
  • At least 1 year of experience in pharmaceutical/healthcare, sales, consulting, customer service, or related areas
  • Intermediate computer skills (Windows, Word, Excel); experience with sales data/call reporting software is a plus
  • Self-starter with ability to work independently
  • Leadership aptitude and decision-making ability
  • Solid understanding of diabetes and obesity therapy areas and ability to communicate technical information
