Role Summary

Cardiometabolic Care Specialist I - P Katy Texas The Cardiometabolic Care Sales Team drives US sales for Novo Nordisk’s cardiometabolic portfolio, focusing on connecting therapies to new specialties and improving patient outcomes. The role involves implementing marketing and sales strategies to effectively promote products to healthcare professionals and office staff.

Responsibilities

  • Assumes responsibility for achieving sales goals by implementing marketing and sales strategies aimed at effectively selling and promoting Novo Nordisk's portfolio of products to HCPs and other office staff.
  • Demonstrates competencies with territory-level impact and an understanding of local payer markets, including Medicare, Commercial and Medicaid designs, coverage, step therapy, copays, and deductibles.
  • Identifies business opportunities by understanding territory customer groups and affiliations and tailors approaches to customers.
  • Analyzes bidding policies/contracts to influence formulary status as applicable.
  • Evaluates the impact of managed care on prescribing decisions and adapts sales strategies accordingly.
  • Develops relationships with specialists, hospital decision-makers, and others who influence purchasing and formulary decisions.
  • Researches and tailors account plans based on stakeholders and account practices.
  • Uses market understanding to develop and execute territory business plans and gain access to build relationships with prescribers, staff, pharmacies, and clinics.
  • Maintains professionalism and a customer-focused approach, addressing customer and patient needs and keeping commitments.
  • Collaborates across functions (e.g., Market Access, Specialty Sales) to share knowledge and opportunities.
  • Implements the Novo Nordisk Edge Selling Model with external customers and during company-sponsored meetings.
  • Manages samples and company property in accordance with policies; oversees discretionary territory and marketing budgets to support sales goals.
  • Demonstrates strong understanding of disease states and treatment options, including NNI and competitor products, and engages customers appropriately.
  • Contributes product and disease state knowledge during sales meetings, training programs, conventions, and displays.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or equivalent degree, and/or PharmD required
  • Minimum one year of experience in Pharmaceutical/Healthcare, Sales, Consulting, Customer Service, or Military (preferred)
  • Intermediate computer skills (Windows, Word, Excel); experience using sales data/call reporting software is ideal
  • Self-starter with ability to evaluate options and make decisions with minimal supervision
  • Aptitude for leadership and decision-making
  • Understanding of current therapy areas (diabetes and obesity) and Novo Nordisk products; ability to learn and communicate technical information
