The Position
Assumes responsibility for achieving sales goals by implementing marketing and sales strategies aimed at effectively selling and promoting Novo Nordisk's portfolio of products to HCPs and other office staff.

Essential Functions
- Demonstrates competencies on a consistent basis with territory level impact
- Demonstrates understanding of the local payer market (Medicare, Commercial, Medicaid), payer coverage, prescription coverage requirements, step therapy, coverage gap, copays, and deductibles, and the impact on customer decisions
- Understands territory customer groups/affiliations (IPAs, medical groups, health systems, local clinics) to identify business opportunities and tailor customer approach
- Analyzes bidding policies/contracts to influence formulary status (as applicable)
- Analyzes managed care impact in the territory and modifies sales/promotion strategies based on prescribing decisions
- Develops and utilizes relationships with specialists, key hospital decision-makers, and others who influence purchasing/prescribing/formulary decisions
- Researches, understands, and tailors account plans based on stakeholders and account practices
- Develops and executes territory business plans using understanding of market conditions, competitive trends, priorities, and patient needs
- Builds and maintains business-relevant relationships with prescribers, support staff, pharmacies, and clinic administrators; collaborates around clinical management and offers NNI-approved solutions
- Maintains professionalism and customer-focused approach by listening, addressing needs, and keeping commitments
- Collaborates across functions (e.g., market access, specialty sales) to share knowledge and business opportunities
- Proficiently implements the Novo Nordisk Edge Selling Model (pre-call planning, customer engagement, adapt approach/resolve objections, call to action/transition)
- Uses analytical tools to evaluate opportunities and create territory business plans to drive commitment to use NNI products
- Coordinates with internal stakeholders (Pod team, PDBM, RBD, etc.) to implement plans and define roles/responsibilities
- Controls samples and other company property per policies/legal requirements; manages discretionary territory and marketing promotional budgets to support sales goals
- Maintains strong disease state and treatment options knowledge (including NNI and competitor products) and promoted NNI clinical studies
- Participates in and contributes product/disease state knowledge during meetings, training, conventions, and displays

Physical Requirements
- Valid driverโ€™s license; must be in good standing (not exceeding Novo Nordisk points threshold based on Motor Vehicle Records)

Qualifications
- Bachelorโ€™s degree or equivalent, and/or Pharm D required
- Preferred: at least 1 year experience in pharmaceutical/healthcare, sales, consulting, customer service, or military
- Intermediate computer skills (Windows, Word, Excel); prior experience using sales data/call reporting software ideal
- Self-starter who can evaluate options and make decisions with minimal supervision
- Leadership and decision-making aptitude
- Solid understanding of diabetes and obesity therapy areas and Novo Nordisk products; aptitude for learning and ability to communicate technical/scientific information
