Role Summary
The Capital Project Manager will lead small to medium-sized capital projects from initiation through completion, ensuring timely and successful delivery with minimal supervision. This role serves as a key advocate for Takeda’s Project Management Methodology and acts as the primary liaison for the Capital Project Management team at the Social Circle facility. This position requires a proactive leader who can navigate complex project environments and foster collaboration across cross-functional teams.
Responsibilities
- End-to-End Project Leadership: Manage projects through their full lifecycle, ensuring delivery across scope, budget, quality, resources, risk, procurement, communications, and timelines.
- Strategic Execution: Implement projects in alignment with defined goals while balancing multiple priorities and initiatives.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Lead and guide cross-functional teams, facilitate stakeholder engagement, and ensure alignment on deliverables.
- Conflict Resolution & Communication: Proactively identify and resolve conflicts through collaborative solutions, maintaining clear and effective communication across all levels of the organization.
- Portfolio Management: Support and maintain the Takeda Project Portfolio Life Cycle Management system (SPOT), ensuring consistent application of methodology across the Capital Team.
- Subject Matter Expertise: Serve as a site and corporate expert in project management, offering coaching, training, and guidance to promote best practices and industry standards.
- Process Improvement & Change Leadership: Act as a change agent by developing and deploying new business processes and enhancing existing ones to improve efficiency and performance.
- Data-Driven Insights: Collect, analyze, and report project and process data to inform decision-making and support continuous improvement.
- Risk & Progress Monitoring: Develop tools and mechanisms to track project progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies in collaboration with key stakeholders.
- Quality Assurance: Review and approve team deliverables to ensure outputs meet quality standards and contribute to organizational excellence.
- Capability Building: Deliver training sessions to strengthen project management capabilities across the organization.
- Business Support: Perform additional duties as needed to support site and business objectives.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree with 6+ years or Master’s degree with 4+ years of capital project management experience.
- Experience in pharmaceutical, biotech, medical device, or other regulated (cGMP) industries preferred.
- PMP certification preferred.
- Willingness to travel up to 5% as needed.
Skills
- Strong command of project management principles, practices, and tools, including familiarity with PMBOK and PMI standards.
- Proven ability to manage complex projects in ambiguous environments while balancing multiple priorities.
- Solid understanding of business operations and systems.
- Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving capabilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel), Microsoft Project, SharePoint; JD Edwards and Trackwise experience is a plus.
