Role Summary

As a Health & Welfare benefits professional, you will support the Manager, Health & Welfare, in the administration, testing, and compliance of employee health and welfare plans. This includes medical, prescription, dental, vision, life and accident insurances, disability, reimbursement accounts, commuter benefits, voluntary benefits, and related vendor relationships. You will play a key role in ensuring operational excellence, financial accuracy, and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the operational contact for health and welfare benefit providers, ensuring timely resolution of issues and escalation when needed
  • Review and resolve data discrepancies and reporting issues with vendors
  • Support H&W projects, including annual enrollment testing, total reward statement, and process improvements
  • Partner with internal teams (e.g., HRIS, Payroll) to ensure compliance with system and regulatory requirements
  • Maintain accurate documentation of H&W procedures and policies; update materials as needed
  • Ensure compliance with data privacy regulations and audit requirements related to H&W benefits
  • Conduct problem solving exercises and after-action reviews where service delivery issues occur to ensure that the root cause of the issue is identified, and appropriate mitigations are put in place going forward
  • Track, process, and monitor H&W benefit finance transactions, including daily ledger processes and payroll updates
  • Reconcile data discrepancies between Workday and Benefits Administrator systems

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in health and welfare benefits administration
  • Strong understanding of regulatory compliance (e.g., HIPAA, ACA, ERISA)
  • Ability to manage vendor relationships and monitor service delivery
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret complex benefit data
  • Excellent communication and partnering skills
  • Experience with Benefits finance activities
  • Preferred: Experience delivering health and welfare projects end-to-end
  • Preferred: Project Management Program certification
  • Preferred: Experience using Workday and Total Benefits Administration (TBA) platforms
