Responsibilities:
- Coordinate with State Government Affairs Regional Leads to develop, align, and execute strategic state alliance engagement plans
- Monitor and analyze state legislation, regulation, and policy across assigned states
- Collaborate with policy and operations colleagues to monitor legislation and policy in assigned states
- Coordinate with Market Access Account Executives and Field Sales to implement state strategies that promote Novo Nordisk interests and support patient access
- Oversee activities of contract lobbyists in several states
- Develop and implement state-specific alliance engagement strategies aligned with business priorities and goals
- Build and maintain strategic relationships with external associations and advocacy organizations
- Coordinate cross-functional projects with Alliance Development and SGA teams
- Educate and communicate with external stakeholders on policy positions
- Track state legislation, regulation, and emerging policy trends
- Analyze policy risks and opportunities to support advocacy strategies
- Maintain political intelligence and brief internal stakeholders
- Advocate with key state policymakers on legislative and regulatory initiatives
- Ensure compliance with state lobbying and ethics requirements
- Develop proactive and reactive strategies to advance policy priorities; create and manage business plans
- Lead cross-functional working groups on policy objectives; prepare materials and briefings for senior leadership
- Cultivate relationships with policymakers and advocacy partners; develop new alliances for multi-state policy challenges
Qualifications:
- Bachelorโs degree required; Advanced degree a plus
- 10+ years of relevant business experience; pharmaceutical/healthcare industry experience preferred
- Preferred: knowledge of Novo Nordisk therapeutic areas and marketplace
- Preferred: knowledge of state government affairs and public policy (policy analysis and government relations); external stakeholder group/alliance development experience
- Strong planning, relationship building, cross-functional leadership skills
- Ability to proactively strategize, deliver and explain/advocate/negotiates positions to broad audiences
- Ability to work under tight deadlines with little/no supervision
- Demonstrated advocacy/communications and analytical skills; proven strategic planning/execution/follow-up; results-focused track record
- Strong interpersonal and communications style; passion for public policy goals
Required/Physical:
- 20โ30% overnight travel required
- Valid driverโs license; maintain good standing (within Novo Nordisk points threshold)
- Travel to Princeton or Washington, DC offices required
