Associate Scientific Director, Medical Affairs (Gynecologic Oncology)
Location: Mettawa, IL (headquarters); Florham Park, NJ; or Waltham, MA. Hybrid Tues–Thurs onsite. San Francisco candidates may be considered.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform accurate medical reviews of complex advertising/promotional materials for assigned therapeutic area(s), ensuring compliance with regulatory guidelines.
- Develop and lead medical education tactics (field medical resources), advisory boards, and thought leader engagement plans aligned to indication/asset strategy.
- Lead conference planning/execution and represent the company at external scientific meetings.
- Partner with International Medical Affairs to drive content synergy and global content perspective.
- Provide input into development of medical strategy for approved assets (with oversight).
- Lead internal medical training (asset onboarding and ongoing cross-functional education).
- Support generation of clinical/scientific evidence to address evidence gaps.
- Manage budgets for assigned Medical Affairs projects/initiatives.
- Provide subject matter expertise for commercial teams (competitive assessments; scientific literature reviews).
- Contribute to launch readiness reviews/planning.
- Support clinical/scientific data generation, aligning Investigator Initiated Study (IIS) strategy as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required. PhD, PharmD, PA or NP strongly preferred; residency or additional post-doctorate experience preferred.
- 3–5+ years in pharma/clinical industry (substantial therapeutic area understanding preferred).
- Strong knowledge of Medical Affairs principles, study design, publications, clinical trial methodology, and regulatory requirements.
- Knowledge of legal/regulatory guidelines (e.g., OPDP promotional regulations; CDER/CBER as applicable).
- Ability to coordinate cross-functional and external scientific activities; present technical information; work effectively in a matrix environment and influence without direct reporting.
