Role Summary

Associate Medical Director, Lupus - US Medical Affairs. Part of US Medical Affairs, supporting the development and implementation of the US medical strategy for systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) and cutaneous lupus erythematosus (CLE). Reports to the Lupus Medical Director and collaborates across cross-functional teams to inform medical practice and improve patient outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the development and execution of the US medical strategy and tactics in SLE and CLE, aligned with global strategy.
  • Serve as a key US Medical contact for cross-functional partners (e.g., US Field Medical, Global Medical, Clinical Development, Epidemiology, Pharmacovigilance, Commercial, Market Access).
  • Collaborate with global/regional/affiliate medical teams to ensure medical activities align with global strategy and that US insights are communicated.
  • Provide insights to local commercial teams to ensure plans are in alignment with the medical strategy.
  • Build and nurture relationships with external stakeholders (KMEs, healthcare institutions, advocacy groups) in SLE and CLE.
  • Develop/adapt medical materials consistent with DSMR/PRC requirements (presentations, training materials, medical briefs, talking points) for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Lead the translation of medical strategy into tactics through Advisory Board meetings and contributions to Congress publications and data-generation projects.

Qualifications

  • Required: MD, PhD, PharmD or comparable advanced degree.
  • Required: Minimum of 3 years of pharmaceutical industry experience, preferably in a Headquarters-based Medical Affairs role and/or Field Medical role. Lupus clinical practice experience may be considered in lieu of industry experience.

Preferred Skills

  • Subject matter expertise in the therapeutic area.
  • Experience with medical launches and products at different lifecycle stages.
  • Strong working knowledge of US regulations relevant to Medical Affairs.
  • Ability to lead and collaborate with global/regional/affiliate medical teams to align regional activities with global strategy and address regional insights/needs.
  • Project management and problem-solving abilities; initiative to handle complex challenges.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including presentations.
