Position Summary
Associate Medical Director (US) supporting the US Medical Director for phase 4 studies/registries; pre-/launch/post-launch activities; and medical review of promotional materials for marketed products. Scientific contributor with expertise in endocrine and rare disorders, focused on growth-related disorders and/or hypoparathyroidism for designated Ascendis TransCon Program(s). Reports to the US Medical Director; weekly availability in Princeton, NJ.
Key Responsibilities
- Medically/scientifically review promotional assets and collaborate with Commercial, Legal, and Regulatory on labeling, advertising, and promotional materials.
- Ensure claims are evidence-supported, references correctly cited, overall impression fair/not misleading, and consistent with approved indications.
- Cross-check promotional content against clinical data and literature; provide therapeutic area/product/competitive intelligence.
- Build relationships with KOLs/investigators/customers/partners and patient advocacy groups.
- Collaborate cross-functionally (e.g., Clinical Development/Operations, Compliance, Pharmacovigilance, Biometrics, Global Communications) to support Medical Affairs projects.
- Support medical strategy/tactical plans, publication planning, medical education, medical information systems.
- Serve as scientific expert for TransCon program(s); support post-marketing studies and US Medical Advisory Boards.
- Develop/present MA materials; represent Medical Affairs internally/externally.
Requirements
- MD/DO; 8+ years total work experience; 3+ years medical affairs industry experience; at least 3 years medical promotional review experience.
- Relevant clinical experience preferred; strong knowledge/experience in rare endocrine disorders or non-Oncology rare diseases (preferred).
- Leadership, strategic/critical thinking, strong oral/written communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to lead by influence (problem solving, conflict resolution, analysis).
