Role Summary
The Associate Director, Search & Evaluation and Alliance Management supports external business development by sourcing and evaluating opportunities and managing existing collaborations.

Key Responsibilities
- Search & Evaluation (S&E): Monitor external landscape (companies, programs, platforms, academic groups, investigators); proactively source opportunities (collaborations, in-licensing, options, asset purchases, acquisitions) including outreach and first-pass screening; maintain an opportunity pipeline with rationale, status, and next steps; prepare concise internal readouts (rationale, differentiation, key data, development status, fit, risks, open questions); coordinate cross-functional evaluations (Discovery, Translational, Clinical, CMC, Regulatory, Safety, IP/Legal, Finance); track competitor/partnering activity and summarize decision-relevant implications; present opportunities/recommendations with clear assumptions and trade-offs.
- Diligence & transaction coordination: Coordinate technical diligence (request lists, Q&A tracking, agendas, notes, action items, decision documents); plan/run internal diligence meetings and reconcile inputs; coordinate external diligence meetings and document outcomes/follow-ups; partner with Legal and Finance to capture technical assumptions, risks, deliverables in deal materials; maintain complete evaluation/diligence/decision records.
- Alliance management: Support/lead alliance management based on scope/complexity; serve as day-to-day partner contact; plan/run governance meetings (e.g., Joint Steering Committees) with agendas, pre-reads, decision documentation, and action tracking; coordinate collaboration execution across internal and partner teams; identify risks/misalignment/scope changes early and recommend/escalate options; support collaboration obligations with Legal/IP and functional leaders.
- Tools/process/documentation ownership: Own/improve BD/Alliance tracking tools (opportunity tracker/CRM, templates, checklists, formats, decision logs); build repeatable, auditable processes; ensure consistent documentation across external stakeholders.
- Cross-functional partnership & communication: Bring external context/structured comparisons to Discovery and Clinical; translate technical information across audiences; facilitate discussions across viewpoints and synthesize recommendations/next steps; represent RayzeBio in initial external discussions and maintain constructive relationships.

Qualifications
Education
- PhD in a relevant scientific discipline preferred (e.g., radiochemistry, chemistry, oncology, pharmacology, nuclear medicine, molecular imaging, or related fields).
- MS/MA considered with additional relevant experience.

Experience
- 6+ years progressive biotech/pharma experience in related roles (Discovery, Translational, Clinical Development, CMC, program leadership, or related).
- Preferred: experience in Search & Evaluation, technical diligence, business development, corporate strategy, or alliance management.
- Required: experience coordinating cross-functional workstreams and communicating with senior stakeholders.
- Preferred: radiopharmaceutical experience; required: strong ability to learn domain-specific topics quickly.

Skills
- Strong scientific/clinical reasoning and data gap assessment.
- Clear, concise writing and structured communication (slides/memos, meeting notes, action logs).
- Strong organization and project management across parallel efforts.
- Sound judgment and consistent confidentiality.
- Technically savvy; comfortable with AI-enabled/data-driven tools for analysis/evaluation/diligence/documentation.
- Collaborative; ability to build strong internal and partner relationships.

Compensation & Benefits (as stated)
- San Diego, CA: $182,753–$221,454 (full-time; additional incentive cash/stock may be available based on eligibility).
