Responsibilities:
- Accountable for delivering Takeda’s “Partner for Access” strategic intent across a geography (5–12 priority accounts and select non-priority accounts) for Commercial, Medicare, State Medicaid, and Managed Medicaid.
- Gain, protect, and improve profitable access to Takeda products.
- Deliver Takeda’s partnership aspiration to priority accounts.
- Engage payers on Takeda’s portfolio (small molecule, specialty, rare, and orphan products).
- Serve as “Face of Managed Markets” and main internal point of contact for market access topics across business units.
- Work with local matrix colleagues to identify market access trends, opportunities/issues, and drive pull-through across the geography.
- Communicate access changes and local impact to maximize wins and mitigate losses.
How you will contribute:
- Secure and maintain appropriate formulary and/or written medical policy access for Takeda brands, focused on profitable access.
- Build and execute strategic account plans based on account priorities.
- Optimize payer opportunities using volume/claims analytics and reimbursement data.
- Negotiate contracts and meet revenue/rebate objectives vs. budget.
- Build and present contracting business cases for direct accounts and strategic partnership opportunities.
- Influence PBMs/downstream clients to model and provide favorable access to Takeda brands.
Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:
- BS/BA degree.
- 3+ years leadership (1st/2nd line) or payer account management experience.
- Broad experience across multiple therapeutic areas; ability to manage multiple therapeutic areas across regional PBMs and payers.
Preferred:
- Experience in specialty/rare disease markets (e.g., sales, brand/payer marketing, field reimbursement, patient services, specialty pharmacy).
- In-depth understanding of commercial, Medicare, and PBM business and regional decision-making.
