Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute public sector and managed care payer strategies for targeted regional plans to secure coverage for newly marketed products, minimize barriers to access, solve reimbursement issues, and support sales.
- Work with a cross-functional team across core classes of trade:
- Commercial Managed Care (Regional Plans)
- Medicaid (Fee for Service, Managed Care Organizations)
- Medicare (Parts A, B, C, and D; Carriers)
- Pharmacy Benefit Managers & Specialty Pharmacies
- Behavioral Health Organizations (BHOs)
- Accountable Care Organizations (ACOs) and other Integrated Delivery Networks (IDNs)
- Advocacy, consumer, provider and treatment systems groups
- Educate health care participants on reimbursement of Alkermes marketed products with Sales, field sales, Key Account Managers, Medical Science Liaisons, and Policy partners.
- Support access within integrated healthcare delivery systems; conduct outreach to and network with state/local provider, patient, and advocacy organizations.
- Develop regional plans to secure access and reimbursement for new products, new approved uses, and related product changes.
- Work with assigned regional payers to secure reimbursement.
- Provide regional strategic direction and prioritization based on regional funding streams for therapeutic areas.
- Develop sustainable corporate relationships to support growth of current and future products.
Qualifications:
Minimum:
- Bachelorβs degree required.
- 10+ years of pharmaceutical experience (specialty background preferred).
- Driverβs license in good standing.
- Ability to demonstrate or secure appropriate credentialing for healthcare provider facility access.
Preferred:
- 2β3+ years reimbursement and account management experience.
- Expert in pharmaceutical reimbursement (preference for specialty pharmaceuticals/biotech).
- Experience with both commercial plans and government payers.
- Contracting experience for commercial managed care, Medicaid, and Medicare.
- In-depth knowledge of PHRMA Code Guidelines.
- Strong analytical, strategic, communication, and demonstrated leadership skills.
Travel Expectations:
- Regional role requiring sufficient travel to meet business needs.
Compensation/Benefits (as stated):
- Annual base salary $200kβ$220k; eligible for annual performance pay bonus; competitive benefits package.
