About the Role
- Accountable for Takeda’s “Partner for Access” strategy across a geography covering 5–12 priority accounts and select non-priority accounts.
- Own all books of business: Commercial, Medicare, State Medicaid, and Managed Medicaid.
- Gain/protect/improve profitable formulary and medical policy access.
- Deliver partnership aspiration to priority accounts; engage payers on Takeda’s portfolio (small molecule, specialty, rare and orphan).
- Serve as the “Face of Managed Markets” and main point of contact for market access topics across Business Units.
- Partner with local matrix colleagues to identify trends/opportunities/issues and drive pull-through.
- Communicate access changes and local impact to maximize wins and mitigate losses.
How you will contribute
- Secure/maintain appropriate formulary and/or written medical policy placement; build/execute strategic account plans.
- Optimize payer opportunities using analytics (volume/claims/reimbursement); negotiate contracts and meet revenue/rebate objectives.
- Build/present contracting business cases; influence PBMs and downstream clients to model/furnish favorable access.
- Develop customer relationships with decision-makers/influencers across departments; understand payor/PBM economics.
- Collaborate cross-functionally (Market Access & Channel Strategy, Contracts & Pricing, Payer Analytics, Government Affairs, Medical Affairs, Patient Services/Field Reimbursement, State Government Affairs, Public Policy).
Minimum Qualifications
- BS/BA degree.
- 3+ years leadership (1st/2nd line) or payer account management experience.
- Experience managing multiple therapeutic areas across regional PBMs and payers.
Preferred
- Specialty/rare disease market experience (sales, brand/payer marketing, field reimbursement, patient services, specialty pharmacy).
- In-depth understanding of commercial, Medicare, and PBM business and regional decision-making.
