About the Role
- Accountable for delivering Takeda’s “Partner for Access” strategy across 5–12 priority accounts and select non-priority accounts; responsible for Commercial, Medicare, State Medicaid, and Managed Medicaid books of business.
Responsibilities
- Gain, protect, and improve profitable formulary/medical policy access.
- Deliver partnership aspiration to priority accounts.
- Engage payers on Takeda’s broad portfolio (small molecule, specialty, rare/orphan).
- Serve as the “Face of Managed Markets” and main point of contact for market access topics with internal partners across business units.
- Identify market access trends/opportunities/issues with local matrix colleagues and drive pull-through.
- Communicate access changes and local impact to maximize wins and mitigate losses.
- Secure/maintain access, build and execute strategic account plans, optimize payer opportunities (analytics/data), negotiate contracts, build/present contracting business cases, and influence PBMs to model/provide favorable access.
- Develop and maintain customer relationships; understand payor/PBM economics and shifting issues.
- Cross-functional collaboration (Market Access/Channel Strategy, Contracts & Pricing, Payer & Pricing Analytics, Government Affairs, Medical Affairs, Patient Services/Field Reimbursement, State Government Affairs, Public Policy) and quarterback account interactions.
Minimum Qualifications
- BS/BA
- 3+ years leadership (1st/2nd line) or payer account management
- Broad portfolio experience across multiple therapeutic areas with regional PBMs/payers
Preferred
- Specialty/rare disease market experience
- In-depth understanding of commercial, Medicare, and PBM regional decision-making

U.S. Base Salary Range
- $184,000.00–$253,000.00
