Purpose:
- Project manager responsible for leading large global projects that contribute to significant financial success of the corporation; key AbbVie project management leader.

Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with applicable policies and procedures; design projects with early risk assessments and fallback strategies to ensure quality and effectiveness.
- Lead planning, development, and execution of large global projects/programs to achieve strategic business objectives; manage multiple concurrent projects; define scope based on business and customer strategic needs; integrate technology and business needs.
- Lead project teams using established PM tools/techniques to stay within authorized budgets and achieve overall objectives; develop project strategy aligned to customer business objectives; contribute to long-term business/organizational strategy.
- Manage all phases of project execution; monitor aggregate performance and value indicators; coordinate/supervise project audits; lead global teams to develop and align procedures and standards.
- Identify strategic vendor alliances with corporate purchasing; assist with contract negotiation; evaluate vendor qualifications, reliability, and performance and ensure adherence to required plans/policies.
- Foster innovation and idea exchange; integrate experiences across disciplines to develop best solutions; develop standards that maximize ROI and minimize infrastructure for ongoing support.
- Communicate effectively across all organizational levels; act as spokesperson/advisor on advanced projects; set direction for improving project design/outcomes.
- Lead task forces; provide mentoring across work groups/functions; participate in staff/project team evaluations and identify development needs; may supervise engineers/technicians.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, science, or closely related field desired; or equivalent technical experience with demonstrated competence; desired 12+ years of significant engineering and/or operational experience; post-graduate degree desired.
- Consistent record of significant contributions and accomplishments.
- Demonstrated excellence in breadth and depth of global project management.
- Ability to work with diverse internal/external collaborators; strong communication skills (oral, written, presentations) and tact.
- Collaborative, fast-paced, goal-driven work style.
- Interpersonal skills to negotiate/reconcile differences while optimizing organizational goals.
- Technical background in health care, medical devices, biological, or pharmaceutical companies.
- Competency with financial systems and fiscal control; project accounting experience; understanding/management of procurement and contracting processes.
- Formal project management training (preferred).
