Responsibilities:
- Own end-to-end procurement process (PO creation and approval through Conga, NetSuite, MedPro, etc.) including coordination with Legal, Finance, and functional leadership
- Collaborate with functional budget owners to draft, negotiate, and execute SOWs and contracts
- Develop and execute procurement strategies aligned with company goals and regulatory requirements, including project-specific RFI/RFP templates and processes
- Interface at all levels of the organization to resolve compliance problems and ensure transparency of procurement activities
- Drive cost efficiency while maintaining high standards of quality, delivery, and compliance
- Lead development and execution of processes for enforcing policies and contracts
- Manage supplier relationships and performance, including negotiations and risk assessments
- Grow the procurement function in parallel with company growth; in time, lead a team to address procurement needs
- Evaluate and implement procurement technologies to support reporting and governance needs
- Develop and manage reporting, benchmarking, and analytics (spend categories, contract compliance, procurement performance, supplier scorecards)
Requirements:
- Bachelorβs Degree
- 8β10 years of experience in sourcing, procurement operations, procurement consulting, or business systems/operations
- Experience supporting global biotech/pharma/life science teams (required)
- Preferred: familiarity with laboratory consumables, reagents, and related materials
- Preferred: professional certification in purchasing/supply chain (ISM: CPSD/CPSM/CSM/CPM; APICS: CPIM/CIRM)
- Demonstrated knowledge of ERP, eProcurement, spend analysis, and contract management, including Conga, NetSuite, and MedPro
- Preferred: agency management experience (briefing/execution/budgetary oversight)
- Proven knowledge of the P2P process, specifically PO creation activities
- Ability to travel to the New Haven headquarters 1β2x per week
