General Summary:
- Support the strategy and execution of US Public Affairs (USPA) activities, with initial focus in pain and kidney areas. Work within Public Affairs and cross-functionally with commercial, medical, R&D, and legal to align and advance corporate goals and objectives.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Serve as primary liaison to the USPA State Government Affairs (SGA) team on state policy work.
- Identify SGA opportunities to advance pain program objectives; generate materials and assets to execute engagements.
- Monitor state legislation; identify substantive policy and political opportunities and risks to the companyβs business.
- Lead key USPA pain projects and run departmental program/process operations to advance policy initiatives.
- Develop project plans, goals, processes, and logistics; gain cooperation and alignment.
- Summarize and create internal communications on program progress, timeline updates, and potential risks.
- Monitor project budgets; communicate forecast variance, risks, and opportunities.
- Compile reports and prepare internal meeting minutes; track action items and stay abreast of multidimensional tasks.
- Travel: 10β20% anticipated.
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:
- Minimum 7β8 years of current, relevant pharmaceutical industry experience, with prior experience in patient advocacy, public health policy, government relations, or related fields (preferably pain environment).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; exercise sound judgment in novel situations.
- Ability to collaborate cross-functionally and build effective business relationships.
- Project management skills; proficient in managing, tracking, and measuring.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities/projects; ensure deadlines, budgets, and status updates.
