Position Summary
- Independently develop, maintain, and deliver forecasts for one or more therapeutic areas to inform brand strategy, enterprise planning cycles, and cross-functional decision-making.
- Integrate insight streams (market research, competitive intelligence, chart audits) and ensure assumptions are transparent and evidence-based; focus on hands-on model execution, rigorous quality control, and AI-first forecasting tool calibration/improvements.
Key Responsibilities
Forecasting & Insight Integration
- Independently lead the end-to-end forecasting process for assigned brands/therapeutic areas.
- Integrate insights from market research, competitive intelligence, and chart audits.
- Support short-term (1- and 3-year) and long-range (10-year) forecasting cycles.
- Translate business questions into structured forecasting analyses and scenario plans.
Advanced Analytics & AI-First Forecasting
- Develop, maintain, and execute AI-first forecasting models (Excel-based, algorithmic, or data-enabled) with calibration and documentation aligned to enterprise standards.
- Conduct scenario analyses and sensitivity assessments.
- Provide feedback to Forecasting Transformation, Data Science, and BI&T teams to improve logic, data pipelines, and assumptions.
- Ensure consistency of forecasting logic across therapeutic areas and planning cycles.
Cross-Functional Alignment
- Partner with Finance, MAx, Commercial, Pricing, Medical, and Worldwide teams to align assumptions and narrative.
- Participate in cross-functional reviews; explain drivers, risks, and opportunities with an unbiased point of view.
- Ensure forecasts reflect real-time market dynamics and operational considerations.
- Support enterprise planning cycles (P-cycles, Budget, LTFP) with timely inputs.
Operational Excellence & Governance
- Maintain rigorous quality control across datasets, assumptions, model logic, and outputs.
- Ensure transparency, audit readiness, and reproducibility via strong documentation.
- Streamline tools/templates/processes to improve clarity and efficiency.
- Support adherence to standardized forecasting practices and enterprise model-risk guidelines.
AI-First Capability Support
- Partner with Data Science, BI&T, and Forecasting Transformation to assist with model calibration/testing and methodology alignment.
- Share best practices and forecasting principles with peers.
Leadership & Collaboration
- Provide informal mentorship and day-to-day guidance to analysts.
- Model structured thinking, data integrity, intellectual curiosity, and enterprise-minded decision support.
- Foster a culture of transparency, innovation, and continuous improvement.
Key Qualifications, Skills & Experience
- 5+ years of experience in pharmaceutical forecasting, commercial analytics, or related quantitative fields.
- Bachelorβs degree required.
- Proficiency in forecasting methodologies, scenario modeling, and pharmaceutical secondary data (e.g., IQVIA, Symphony).
- Experience developing or using Excel-based, algorithmic, or AI-enabled forecast models.
- Python (or comparable tools) familiarity preferred (not required) for model calibration/analytical enhancements.
- Strong synthesis of complex data into clear, actionable insights.
- Excellent communication and data-storytelling skills; able to present to cross-functional partners.
- Ability to operate in a dynamic environment, manage ambiguity, and apply structured problem-solving.
- Commitment to rigorous quality control, model accuracy, and methodological transparency.
- Intellectual curiosity, adaptability, and enthusiasm for AI-first forecasting.
Compensation Overview
- Princeton, NJ, US: $167,540 - $203,013 (full-time employee range; incentives/stock may be available based on eligibility).
