Role: Associate Director, Patient Marketing Strategy (East Hanover, NJ or Cambridge, MA; not remote; no relocation; up to 20% travel).
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute an integrated patient/caregiver marketing strategy for FSHD using patient insights, behavioral science, advocacy partnerships, and launch-readiness priorities.
- Create compliant, inclusive patient content, unbranded/branded campaigns, education resources, community programs, support tools, and digital experiences aligned to brand and disease-state strategy.
- Lead patient/caregiver disease-state education strategy (progression, diagnosis, genetic confirmation, care coordination, specialist connection).
- Drive patient journey mapping, segmentation, behavioral strategy, and jobs-to-be-done to identify barriers and activation opportunities.
- Partner with advocacy organizations, patient communities, caregivers, and stakeholders to build trusted, meaningful engagement.
- Build patient activation/retention/engagement programs to support re-engagement, informed provider conversations, specialist connection, and treatment readiness.
- Identify barriers to diagnosis, genetic confirmation, adoption/access, and ongoing engagement; translate insights into action plans and measurable interventions.
- Define priorities, budgets, agency scope, launch milestones, KPIs, and optimization plans.
Essential Requirements:
- Bachelorβs degree.
- 5+ years commercial marketing (rare disease/specialty/neurology/neuromuscular/genetic testing/complex chronic condition patient marketing).
- 3+ years using data/analytics/customer insights for personalization at scale.
- Cross-functional leadership; experience with patient/caregiver education and campaigns/support/community engagement.
- Experience partnering with advocacy organizations and caregivers compliantly.
- Experience with journey optimization, behavioral insights, segmentation, digital/CRM/social listening/omnichannel activation.
- Pre-launch and launch experience.
Desirable Requirements:
- Master of Science and/or MBA.
- Multi-functional experience in pharmaceutical/healthcare.
