Associate Director, Operational Excellence
Key Responsibilities
- Drive adoption/execution of BMS operating system vision and strategy; collaborate with sites/functions and the OpEx network to build a continuous improvement culture.
- Lead and support Diagnostics and Focused Improvement initiatives.
- Coach sites/site leaders on COMPASS Roadmaps using the BMS operating system to deliver results and mature Operational Excellence.
- Apply Continuous Improvement/Lean tools to improve performance, reduce waste, and drive productivity.
- Facilitate Monthly Bowling Card reviews; support “Lead with Data” and fact-based decision-making.
- Establish SMART KPIs (safety, quality, service, cost, efficiency) and conduct end-to-end business process improvement.
- Lead Kaizen, DMAIC, PDCA, and Lean Six Sigma projects; perform root-cause problem solving.
- Optimize labor/facility/space utilization; identify meaningful metrics/KPIs; provide CI education, training, intake, and prioritization.
- Ensure compliance with resource management policies/procedures; stay current on Compass/process improvement trends.
- Implement innovative solutions and foster continuous improvement; travel up to 50%.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree (Engineering/Management/Project Management or related); MBA/advanced degree preferred.
- 5+ years operations/project management; 2+ years OpEx with focused improvements.
- Financial acumen for business cases; experience in pharmaceutical industry or similar.
- Lean Six Sigma Black Belt/Master Black Belt preferred.
- Proficiency with Agile/Scrum/PMP; strong leadership, communication, analytical/problem-solving skills; data-driven decisions.
