Position Summary:
Associate Director, Operational Excellence—drive adoption/execution of BMS operating system vision and strategy; oversee and collaborate to develop/implement strategies that build a continuous improvement culture and flawless execution/performance improvement.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and support Diagnostics and Focused Improvement initiatives
- Coach sites/site leaders on COMPASS Roadmaps; mature Operational Excellence culture
- Apply Continuous Improvement/Lean tools to improve performance, reduce waste, increase productivity
- Facilitate Monthly Bowling Card reviews
- Lead end-to-end business process improvement; implement “Lead with Data”/fact-based decisions
- Establish SMART KPIs (safety, quality, service, cost, efficiency)
- Lead workshops and projects (Kaizen, DMAIC, PDCA, Lean Six Sigma); root-cause problem solving
- Optimize labor, facility, and space utilization; identify meaningful metrics/KPIs
- Drive continuous improvement education/training, project intake/prioritization, capability building
- Stay current on Compass/process-improvement trends and emerging technologies
- Foster innovation/continuous improvement culture; partner with leadership on high-impact opportunities
- Travel up to 50%
Qualifications/Required:
- Bachelor’s degree (Engineering/Management/Project Management or related); MBA/advanced degree preferred
- 5+ years operations/project management (or related)
- 2+ years OpEx with focus on driving focused improvements
- Financial acumen for business cases; complex project leadership; strong leadership/communication
- Agile/Scrum/PMP proficiency; strong analytical/problem-solving; data-driven decision-making
- Pharmaceutical industry experience (or similar)
Preferred Skills:
- Lean Six Sigma Black Belt/Master Black Belt
