Associate Director Manufacturing Operations
Responsibilities:
- Manage day-to-day manufacturing operations for assigned area (small molecule or peptides).
- Provide oversight for operational resources assigned to the Process Team, including Operations Leaders.
- Lead frontline execution of manufacturing instructions (e.g., batch production records, SOPs) to safely and compliantly manufacture high-quality medicine.
- Serve as key integrator of cross-functional team to drive safety, quality, and continuous improvement toward Operational Excellence.
- Ensure equipment is maintained in a state of compliance and processes are in a validated state.
- Build and promote a strong Safety and Quality culture; protect safety, environment, and quality.
- Participate in creation, approval, and execution of the production plan for the assigned area.
- Ensure consistency of operations across shifts through active engagement on the production floor.
- Support area leadership through site inspections.
- Own implementation of change and improvement agenda for the assigned area with cross-functional integration.
- Set objectives for the cross-functional technical Process Team; own and review scorecard/delivery with management.
- Set objectives and development plans for Operations staff (Operations Leaders and Operators).
- Manage events; ensure communication within the team and with external teams; provide input and approve investigations.
- Ensure team training and current operating procedures/training materials; communicate site objectives and team business.
- Ensure the team is adequately resourced to meet business objectives.
- Startup phase: build organization capability/capacity/culture for facility excellence; develop and implement site systems/processes; support regulatory compliance and operational excellence using lean principles; support project team delivery with feedback and support.
Basic Requirements:
- Bachelorβs degree in Engineering or Science (Chemical Engineering preferred).
- Multi-disciplinary experience across functions including process engineering, quality assurance, process development, technical services/manufacturing science, or Continuous Improvement (preferably API manufacturing).
- 5+ years of leadership experience.

- Facility/site startup experience; leadership examples in organizational change management.
- Continuous Improvement (Lean) leadership experience.
