Key Responsibilities:
- Optimize access to the full Alnylam product portfolio by ensuring provider accounts understand access and reimbursement dynamics.
- Proactively identify trends creating barriers to access/reimbursement and develop solutions.
- Work with internal stakeholders and providers to support patient treatment pathways.
- Engage key account stakeholders (intake/authorization, billing compliance, Revenue Cycle/Revenue Integrity, infusion center management/decision-makers, pharmacy stakeholders).
- Identify, address, and provide education to resolve outstanding claim payment issues.
- Mentor and guide case managers/field reimbursement managers on complex PA/appeal issues.
- Provide case-specific PA/appeal support and site-of-care options for rare business.
- Maintain relationships with Medicare Administrative Contractors (MACs); monitor Local Coverage Determinations (LCDs) and National Coverage Determinations (NCDs).
- Partner with Public Policy & Government Relations on strategies/tactics for MACs, local policy changes, and state public policy initiatives.
- Use reporting dashboards to track critical metrics/KPIs.
- Ensure compliance with corporate/industry policies in collaboration with Legal, Regulatory, and Compliance.
Qualifications:
- Bachelorβs degree required.
- 5+ years pharma/biotech or related healthcare experience.
- 3+ years field reimbursement experience in βbuy and bill,β preferably rare disease, oncology, specialty products and/or infusions/injectables.
- Established relationships with MACs (highly preferred).
- Strong knowledge of the US payer landscape.
- Deep understanding of medical and pharmacy benefit across payer types and sites of care.
- Proven ability to identify access/reimbursement barriers and design resolution plans.
- Exceptional communication/interpersonal/problem-solving skills with C-suite decision makers.
- Ability to lead without authority in a matrix, fast-paced environment.
- Self-starter; enthusiastic about rare disease and company values.
- Ability to travel up to 50%.
- Must reside within 75 miles of the region boundary and near a mid-size or larger airport.
