Role Summary

Associate Director - External Engagement & Global Medical Affairs Thought Leader Center of Excellence at Lilly. Leads Thought Leader and External Engagement capability across enterprise partners, driving compliance, process clarity, and global engagement standards to advance science and clinical practice in a patient-centric way.

Responsibilities

  • Lead Thought Leader (TL) / External Engagement (EE) capability across enterprise partners; serve as subject matter expert and provide onboarding, training, and train-the-trainer support for External Engagement roles.
  • Drive consistency in EE execution internationally by authoring playbooks and leading performance support; harmonize practices and optimize current models and standards.
  • Build strong cross-functional relationships; lead assigned teams and drive capability innovation projects to increase internal efficiency and external impact.
  • Identify and remove barriers to keep BU roles strategic and customer-focused in EE planning and execution; co-author and steward innovative solutions across BUs.
  • Engage in BU/TA forums to support TLEE business needs with content, training, and solutions meeting objectives.
  • Enable acceleration, reach, and scale by adopting TLEE processes, platforms, and capabilities.
  • Consult with Privacy, Legal, Ethics and Compliance to create or modify policies affecting Lilly TLs across BUs and geographies.
  • Stay updated on TLEE benchmarking and share key learnings with stakeholders.
  • Lead communication with stakeholders regarding external engagement topics; design and train a consistent global approach for EE planning and execution with integrity and compliance.
  • Optimize utilization of EE solutions; understand data needs and influence analytics and reporting to optimize impact metrics across enterprise.
  • Ensure timely onboarding for EE roles; continually improve TL identification, planning, and tracking; reduce administrative burden on BU structures.
  • Communicate legal and compliance risks and privacy considerations for contracted external engagement.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in the pharmaceutical or medical device industry
  • Authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis; no sponsorship provided
