Operations
Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coach site facilities engineers and other staff, including performance reviews and development planning.
- Deliver site facilities services, systems, and operations.
- Manage external contracts/resources and internal technical and project management resources as required.
- Coordinate facilities maintenance work supporting all manufacturing areas and site objectives; provide maintenance input to key functional groups and partners.
- Ensure facilities maintenance planning, scheduling, and work completion meet site business needs.
- In coordination with engineering/maintenance, set and reinforce standards for building maintenance and reliability.
- Ensure compliance with corporate maintenance and reliability expectations (PM execution, reliability roadmap); align with corporate initiatives and best practices via global engineering/Engineering Tech Center network.
- Support site governance through participation, influence, and leadership in cross-functional meetings and initiatives.
- Develop and maintain performance metrics vs. business objectives and drive improvements.

Startup-phase expectations (Houston API site):
- Build the organization (capability, capacity, culture) to operate at the highest operational excellence standards.
- Develop and implement site systems/processes to run the facility, leveraging Lilly knowledge/practices and external experience.
- Ensure regulatory compliance and operational excellence by supporting lean principles.
- Support the project team delivering the facility via feedback and support.

Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelorโ€™s degree in relevant field (Chemical, Electrical, Mechanical Engineering preferred).
- 3+ yearsโ€™ experience in a leadership role supporting manufacturing, preferably in an API or chemical manufacturing facility.
