Summary of Job:
The Associate Director/Director, Medical Affairs Strategy will manage medical affairs strategic plans for internal programs and external-facing interactions, providing medical & scientific strategic and operational input into core medical affairs activities. This role works cross-functionally to execute the plan of action for PWS and reports directly to the Head of Medical Affairs Strategy.
Responsibilities:
- Support annual medical planning for PWS; develop and monitor execution of medical strategy and tactical plans.
- Provide therapeutic area expertise, medical support, and scientific insights to align cross-functional strategic plans.
- Serve as medical reviewer and expert on promotional and medical review committees.
- Establish and maintain relationships with opinion leaders, medical societies, and external partners to gather insights.
- Lead and participate in advisory boards, symposia, and scientific conferences.
- Stay current on scientific advancements, competitor activities, and industry trends.
- Contribute to development and standardization of Medical Affairs policies, processes, and internal guidance.
- Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and industry codes of conduct in medical affairs activities.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Advanced medical/scientific degree (MD, PhD, PharmD, NP/PA) with 5β7+ years in Medical Affairs (pharma/biotech).
- Prior launch experience in orphan/specialty is a plus.
- Ability to think strategically and translate into an actionable work plan.
- Excellent communication/interpersonal skills with internal and external stakeholders.
- In-depth knowledge of regulatory environment and compliance for medical affairs.
- Experience in PWS or orphan disease preferred.
- Exceptional analytical, organizational, and scientific/medical presentation skills.
- Ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
