Assistant Director, Human Resource Business Partner (HRBP)
Responsibilities
- Partner with GPS&O leaders and managers to translate business priorities into people plans and recommendations.
- Support workforce planning and organization design (role clarity, reporting relationships, team structure, ways of working).
- Identify people-related risks/opportunities and advise on readiness for product launches and commercialization milestones.
- Coach leaders on leadership effectiveness, performance expectations, feedback, development, difficult conversations, and team dynamics.
- Support talent reviews, succession planning, career development, retention planning, goal setting, and performance management.
- Partner with Talent Acquisition on recruiting priorities, selection decisions, and onboarding for important hires.
- Use engagement data to develop focused, measurable action plans.
- Advise on employee relations, policy interpretation, performance concerns, workplace conduct, conflict resolution, and investigations (with ER/Legal/HR leadership as needed).
- Support reorgs, role changes, process improvements, and workforce transitions; plan and communicate change.
- Use workforce data/HR metrics to identify issues, evaluate options, and provide practical recommendations.
- Coordinate HR support across Total Rewards, Talent, L&D, TA, HR Operations, HRIS/Analytics, ER, and others; improve HR processes/tools.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in HR, business administration, or related field (or equivalent).
- Typically 8+ years related experience with a bachelor’s, or 6+ years with a master’s.
- HR Business Partner experience across talent, performance, employee relations, workforce planning, and organizational effectiveness.
- Experience advising leaders in complex, matrixed, changing organizations.
- Strong coaching, communication, influencing, facilitation, and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to use workforce data/analytics and develop practical solutions; sound judgment and confidentiality.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work autonomously.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in pharmaceutical/biotechnology/life sciences/healthcare.
- Experience supporting Commercial/Medical Affairs/product strategy/market insights/analytics or other customer- or science-facing functions.
- Experience with product launches, commercialization, organizational growth, or operating-model change.
- Master’s degree and/or HR certification (e.g., SHRM-SCP, SPHR).
- HRIS/workforce analytics and compensation/job-leveling experience.
Benefits
- Pay scale: $115,000–$141,000.
