Area Therapy Advancement Manager (field-based; Pacific Coast Region incl. OR, CA, AK, HI, Reno NV, Las Vegas NV)
Job Summary
- Member of US Commercial Marketing leadership team, reporting to the National Therapy Advancement Director.
- Leads the area Therapy Advancement field team (Regional Therapy Advancement Managers/RTAMs).
- Develops and oversees execution of Johnson & Johnson MedTech Electrophysiology (EP) marketing strategies, aligned with Field Sales to expand patient access to care (including cardiac catheter ablation).
- Leads area execution strategies and optimizes resource utilization with Professional Education, Health Economics & Market Access (HEMA), and Strategic Customer Group (SCG).
Job Responsibilities
- Lead and Develop Regional Therapy Advancement Team: recruit, develop, retain; performance management, succession planning, development planning; coach and directly manage RTAMs.
- Drive Strategic Alignment and Business Planning: identify priority accounts; align objectives with Area VP and National Therapy Advancement Manager; set commercial goals, ensure accountability, and meet/exceed objectives; influence strategy as sales area leadership.
- Advocate for Electrophysiology Programs: engage health system administration and hospital leadership; advocate for programs that accelerate access to care and improve outcomes; maximize use of resources from Commercial Marketing, Professional Education, HEMA, and SCG.
- Advance Awareness and Market Presence: increase awareness of atrial fibrillation (AFib) and treatment options with hospital administrators, physicians, and referral networks; connect physicians with commercial/strategic marketing initiatives; plan/execute national marketing projects and campaigns.
- Collaborate Across Teams: partner with field sales teams; maintain routine communication with RTAMs, sales leadership, and EP leadership.
- Ensure Compliance and Operational Excellence: uphold Health Care Compliance (HCC) rules; complete mandatory training, expense reporting, and administrative tasks on time.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree required.
- Required Experience/Skills:
- 8+ years professional work experience; 4+ years sales and marketing experience
- Medical device industry experience
- People leadership experience
- Strong presentation and communication skills
- Consultative approach; ability to build strategic customer relationships
- Ability to establish and maintain strategic relationships across an organization
- Inclusive and Growth/Visionary mindset
- Ability to manage multiple projects in a dynamic environment with urgency
- Advanced Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook
- Valid driver’s license; up to 60% travel (overnights and/or weekends)
- Residence within, or willingness to relocate to, the geography
- Preferred:
- Prior sales and/or clinical experience in electrophysiology
- Prior sales and/or clinical experience in cardiovascular therapeutic area(s)
- Master’s degree or equivalent
