Area Business Specialist (ABS) β€” Responsibilities:
- Achieve territory product sales goals and activity goals by executing company performance expectations, metrics, and customer engagement objectives.
- Use internal data, analytics, and insights to identify high-potential HCP/account opportunities and develop/execute a territory business plan.
- Interpret market research and sales analytics to drive territory business objectives.
- Build rapport with HCPs to create urgency for identification, diagnosis, and treatment of underserved rare disease patients; drive timely therapy initiation and sustained adherence in compliance with company policy.
- Use account-based selling by engaging practice stakeholders (physicians, nurses, medical assistants, office staff, referral coordinators, prior authorization personnel) to identify patients, remove barriers, and drive pull-through from diagnosis to treatment.
- Leverage company resources (field analytics, account data, marketing campaigns, speaker programs, peer-to-peer education, disease state materials, patient-finding resources, and cross-functional support) to develop account strategies and improve engagement.
- Maintain cross-functional partnerships and collaborate with regional teams to share best practices and implement initiatives.
- Partner with Marketing, Training, Market Access, and Commercial Operations to drive customer engagement and behavior change.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) required; advanced degree preferred.
- 5+ years successful life sciences sales experience required.
- 2+ years rare disease promotion preferred (or proven specialty pharmaceutical sales track record).
- Preferred experience: rare/ultra-rare disease, specialty pharmaceuticals, or neurology.
- Proven sustained high sales performance; strong sales process knowledge.
- Strong analytical skills/business acumen.
- Valid U.S. state-issued driver’s license required.
- Excellent communication, leadership, teamwork, accountability, adaptability, problem-solving, organization, multitasking, and prioritization.

Working conditions:
- Field-based; daily business in assigned geography; periodic evening/weekend work; air/vehicle travel; extensive overnight travel for larger geographies.
