Position Summary:
Area Business Manager (patient-inspired, results-driven sales professional) promoting the FDA-approved treatment for Rett syndrome in adults and pediatric patients ages two and older. Own and execute territory strategy, analyze market insights, and build cross-functional partnerships in a rare disease landscape.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Report to the Regional Business Leader.
- Build trusted relationships with healthcare providers and multidisciplinary care teams.
- Maintain strong working relationships with target HCPs; communicate safety/efficacy and education-focused disease-state information (MLR-approved).
- Plan and execute territory business plans to exceed goals (call activity, adherence, and financial objectives).
- Cultivate relationships with KOLs and relevant stakeholders.
- Address customer concerns and collaborate internally to resolve issues.
- Analyze sales potential; optimize outreach within budget and compliance.
- Partner cross-functionally to support patients and providers.
- Participate in patient advocacy events, conferences, training; stay current on market trends/products.
- Guide customers on product pricing/access; liaison with internal teams.
Education/Experience/Skills:
- Bachelorβs degree required (life sciences preferred).
- Area Business Manager: 3+ years pharmaceutical sales; 1+ year specialty sales (rare diseases preferred).
- Sr. Area Business Manager: 8+ years pharmaceutical sales; 5+ years specialty sales (rare diseases preferred).
- Preferred: specialty sales experience (rare diseases/CNS-neurology/pediatric neurology) and familiarity with specialty distribution/access.
- Advanced selling/dialogue skills; build lasting relationships (KOLs, Centers of Excellence, care teams).
- Cross-functional ability to execute actionable business plans ensuring patient access.
- Strong organization/communication/interpersonal skills; self-motivated.
- Must live within territory; valid driverβs license; travel extensively (overnights, air travel).
- Must be in good standing with FDA and OIG.
Physical Requirements/Travel:
- Regular standing/walking/sitting; occasional lifting/moving up to 20 lbs.
- Travel up to 80%; work after hours as needed.
