Area Business Manager (ABM) β Field Sales (Central region)
Responsibilities:
- Maintain a consistent on-the-ground presence across the assigned area.
- Lead TSS-only intel calls, deep-diving into individual accounts and prescribers.
- Track and analyze new patients written within the assigned area.
- Collect and synthesize field insights: drug shortages and impacts, competitor counter-detailing (by center/HCP), grant activity and patient access, and emerging clinical/safety patterns.
- Roll insights to senior leadership through a single standardized channel.
- Respond to needs assessments from the field to resolve area-level issues (vs. routing across functions).
- Gather/share HCP targeting data and disseminate best practices.
- Lead structured training calls with the Training Manager.
- Serve as an interim resource for Regional Sales Directors and for reps navigating complex accounts.
- Individual contributor role; no direct reports.
Qualifications/Skills:
- 8+ years in pharma (field sales, sales leadership, or field-facing commercial roles); rare disease/specialty/cardiology preferred.
- BS/BA required; MBA/equivalent preferred but not required.
- Proven ability to build trusted field relationships and lead insight from observations.
- Strong analytical skills; excellent written/verbal communication.
- High autonomy across a large geography; ability to prioritize independently.
- Ability to influence without authority; cross-functional collaboration (RSDs, TSSs, Training, Marketing, Medical).
- Travel 50%+ including evenings/weekends as needed.
Compensation/Benefits (California):
- Salary: $210,000β$250,000 USD.
