Position Summary
As an Area Business Director (Nephrology) on the Sales team, cultivate and maintain a strong direct customer-facing presence with nephrology healthcare providers, office/clinic staff, and affiliated dialysis center personnel as needed. Establish Ardelyx as an organization that advances patient care with novel mechanism medicines that meet important clinical needs.
Responsibilities
- Achieve sales objectives.
- Deliver favorable results through accountability, collaboration, compliance, and teamwork.
- Establish and implement an effective sales plan that meets (ideally exceeds) sales goals and corporate objectives.
- Collaborate with ABD peers to optimize product opportunities via coordination and information sharing tied to nephrology practices and dialysis organizations.
- Partner with Marketing, Patient Services, and Market Access to inform territory dynamics and facilitate best practices.
- Master clinical data, disease-state knowledge, competitive products, and market access information to drive relevant messaging.
- Ensure all activities comply with applicable laws, regulations, and company compliance policies.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years pharmaceutical/biotech industry sales experience.
- Specialty pharmaceutical/biotech sales experience; nephrology preferred.
- Proven track record of achieving and/or outperforming sales goals.
- Product launch experience.
- Knowledge of patient service hubs and specialty pharmacy distribution.
- Demonstrated experience in competitive markets.
- Ability to engage customers based on their needs and experience.
- Understanding of laws/regulations for pharmaceutical sales/marketing to physicians and healthcare organizations.
- Ability to understand/develop and implement sales strategies and tactics.
- Strong clinical/scientific acumen to influence healthcare professionals and stakeholders.
- Nephrology relationships with healthcare professionals, dialysis centers, and local patient advocacy groups (plus).
- Ability to analyze sales data and key performance metrics.
- Integrity; honesty, accuracy, attention to detail.
- Prior sales management experience (plus).
- Bachelorβs degree.
