Area Business Director (Gastroenterology) - Seattle, WA

Position Summary
As an Area Business Director (Gastroenterology) on the Sales team, cultivate and maintain direct customer-facing relationships with gastroenterology healthcare providers and office/clinic staff.
Responsibilities
- Achieve sales objectives.
- Use accountability, collaboration, compliance, and teamwork to deliver favorable results for healthcare professionals, their patients, and Ardelyx.
- Establish and implement an effective sales plan that meets (ideally exceeds) sales goals and corporate objectives.
- Coordinate with ABD peers to optimize product opportunities via information sharing linked to large gastroenterology group practices.
- Partner with Marketing, Patient Services, and Market Access to share territory insights and best practices.
- Master clinical data, disease state knowledge, competitive products, and market access information to drive messaging.
- Ensure activities comply with all laws, regulations, and Ardelyx compliance policies.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of pharmaceutical/biotech industry sales experience.
- Specialty pharmaceutical/biotech sales experience; gastroenterology preferred.
- Proven track record of consistently achieving and/or outperforming sales goals.
- Product launch experience.
- Patient service hubs and specialty pharmacy distribution knowledge.
- Demonstrated experience in competitive markets.
- Ability to engage customers based on their needs and experience.
- Knowledge of applicable laws/regulations for pharmaceutical sales and marketing to physicians and healthcare organizations.
- Ability to understand/develop and implement sales strategies and tactics.
- Strong clinical/scientific acumen to influence healthcare professionals and stakeholders.
- Relationships with gastroenterology HCPs and local patient advocacy groups (plus).
- Ability to analyze sales data and KPIs to identify opportunities.
- Integrity, honesty, accuracy, and attention to detail.
- Prior sales management experience (plus).
- Bachelorβs degree.

Compensation
- Anticipated annualized base pay range: $145,000β$190,000; may include annual bonus target and equity awards (subject to eligibility).
