Animal Care Technician

Responsibilities:
- Care and husbandry of animals across a variety of species
- Feed and water animals; conduct daily observations
- Clean animal cages/pens/rooms; set up rooms/pens/cages for animal studies
- Set up and operate equipment; assist with inventory of animal husbandry supplies
- Maintain accurate recordkeeping
- Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), safety, and company policies; comply with USDA/OSHA/GLP/SOP and site/state/federal regulations
- Work in inclement conditions (extreme heat/cold) and be willing to work weekends and holidays
Position Qualifications:
- HS Diploma or GED
- Preferred: Associate degree in Animal Science, Poultry Science, or Biology
Required Experience/Skills:
- Minimum 1 year experience working with animals
- Strong communication and multi-tasking skills
- Valid driverβs license
- Ability to lift 50 pounds
Preferred:
- ALAT certification (Assistant Laboratory Animal Technician)
