Associate Director, Publications and AI Integration
Responsibilities:
- Act as medical writer for abstract submissions, congress presentations, and journal articles for lung cancer and glioma.
- Execute internal/external author reviews and submissions to congresses and/or journals per internal SOPs and Good Publication Practices.
- Stay current on ICMJE/GPP and journal/publisher policies for compliant use of generative AI in authorship, content development, and disclosure.
- Lead role in shaping responsible AI use in content creation and publications strategy.
- Advise on how AI/LLM tools are used by healthcare providers and stakeholders; translate insights into publication planning.
- Ensure scientific content is accurately represented via AI tools (e.g., structured abstracts, open-access deposition, indexing), balancing discoverability with compliance and scientific integrity.
- Develop well-written medical communications: FAQs, advisory board content, slide decks, narratives, literature summaries, and medical FAQ documents.
- Work closely with Medical Strategy leadership to align content with core product scientific narratives.
- Lead multiple projects simultaneously and deliver on time.
- Support new business opportunities by researching scientific literature.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Advanced degree (MD, PhD, PharmD) in a medical or science-related specialty; significant medical writing experience may substitute.
- 3+ years in medical communications agency, biotech, or pharma.
- Medical writing, content creation, or medical communications experience.
- Oncology experience required; lung or neuro-oncology highly desired.
- Knowledge of ICMJE/GPP guidelines and current standards for compliant AI use.
- Independent work capability with accountability.
- Strong project management, attention to detail, urgency.
- Familiarity with publications review systems (preferred).
- Ability to travel to HQ and professional congresses as appropriate.
