Role: Patient and Community Liaison (PCL) within Novartis' Neuromuscular team, focusing on engaging with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD) and Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA) communities to provide education and support. Responsibilities: deliver empathetic disease education, empower patients/caregivers with treatment information, build relationships with advocacy groups, attend live and virtual events (mostly weekends), respond to inquiries, and share insights with cross-functional teams to improve educational materials. Maintain compliance with regulatory standards and document interactions. Requirements: Bachelor’s in healthcare or related field, minimum 5 years in patient education or healthcare support roles, bilingual (Spanish/English), ability to travel up to 70% including weekends, strong communication skills, experience with virtual education tools, and ability to work in a regulated environment. Preferred: experience in neuroscience, neuromuscular therapies, gene therapy, or rare diseases. High-value specifics: focus on neuromuscular disorders (DMD and SMA), community engagement, education, and support in a regulated pharma environment.
